cry.
It is surprisingly comforting and reassuring to cry.
Giving yourself a moment in a comfortable space, like your bed, a toilet cubicle or anywhere else where you have the privacy, and then crying your heart out is often quite helpful to vent out some emotions.
Not sure if it's just me, but it's often difficult to voice out some thoughts, feelings and troubles to others. Perhaps it's because if you're not sure people will understand, or because some things are closer to home. Of course, as much as possible, one should share their thoughts with close friends/family, but life is oftentimes much more convoluted and complex and the idea of sharing isn't quite as simple as it would appear.
In these situations, I am a strong believer that taking a moment to cry your feelings out can help you get back on your feet. Crying helps you vent out all your issues, and in that process, also take a moment to think about them more.
Don't force yourself to tackle issues head-on, speak to others if you need more room to breathe and work with, so that others can understand, empathise and provide you with this much needed space. You don't need to tell anyone you cried, oftentimes just knowing you let out your emotions provides some much needed comfort.
